Hallo!
My name is Natalie Hammer, and I am currently a junior studying social work and German. My home is Rockford, Michigan – just about an hour’s drive from Hope’s campus. According to my research, Germany is a little bit more than an hour’s drive from Hope’s campus, which will be a very fun and new adventure!
I will be studying abroad with IES in their Berlin Language and Area Studies program this spring. I am excited to embrace this new adventure with an open mind, willing spirit, and humble heart. Studying social work has opened my eyes to the importance of being present and listening well; both practices I am excited to grow in during my time abroad. I recognize the great privilege it is to live this experience, and I hope to embrace it with wholehearted gratitude.
I hope to share some spontaneous adventures, memorable moments, lessons learned and of course maybe a few German sustainable practices as I go. Thank you for following along!
