Eli Arrondo ’25 – CIEE Toyko, Japan

I was born in Atlanta, nurtured in New York, and grew up in Barcelona, decided to go to Hope College for many reasons and am currently pursuing a biochemistry and molecular biology degree on the pre-med track. I have a younger sister and a dog and two cats back home.

I have always been brought up in Western countries, whether it be Europe or the United States, so my perspective is limited. Coming out of my comfort zone and going to a country that has such rich history, traditions, and contemporary innovations such as Japan, will hopefully broaden my perspective, and I will create new memories and experiences.
