I never knew that international travel can be done so casually. Not even two weeks ago, my flatmates and I spontaneously decided to fly to England (thanks Ryanair for being so affordable). After an hour-long flight, I was in a whole different country.

Two years ago, the summer before the beginning of the pandemic, I visited England and Scotland with my relatives. However, going with friends was a whole new experience. Here are some of the highlights of this trip.

  •  Wicked The Musical at the Apollo Victoria in London’s West End
This was by far the BEST part of my weekend. I have been listening to the soundtrack of Wicked on repeat since this magical night.
  • Strolling around the University of Cambridge
I reunited with Mark Turner, my British friend who was at Hope as an exchange student during my freshman year! Cambridge was a picturesque town with so many cool cafes and buildings.
  • A fancy afternoon tea at the Wallace Collection Restaurant
Curious about what sort of sophisticated conversations we had during our afternoon tea? Well… we heard a rumor that Harry Styles was in town and wondered how we could possibly bump into him.

One thing I recently found out about myself is that I genuinely enjoy visiting art galleries. I’m so glad that I got to see famous masterpieces with my own eyes.
