My name is JaeKi (pronounced jay-key) Park, and I am a junior studying chemistry. I’m from Richland, Michigan, and I’ve lived there most of my life. I’ve always enjoyed a good trip or adventure, so studying abroad is the next logical move for me to make. I’m so so SO excited to spend my semester in Auckland, New Zealand, through IES!
During my time at Hope, I have been a part of the sailing team, played saxophone in the wind ensemble, and I am a current member of STEP! I enjoy music (my favorite bands are ABBA, Fleetwood Mac, and Taylor Swift!), plants, and dressing up for no reason, and in my free time you can catch me learning how to paint or play an instrument!
I am beyond ready to explore everything that New Zealand has to offer! I’ve seen pictures of the absolutely BREATHTAKING scenery there and I can only wait to see the natural beauty firsthand! Some of the things on my bucket list are to skydive/cliff dive, learn how to speak with a New Zealand accent, see a real life capybara, and try to take a selfie with a kiwi (yes, the food) every day!
