The Last Weekend

Well, this will be my last blog physically in Chicago, and my second to last blog for the semester. It really does not feel like it is coming to an end, but I am excited to see what the next chapter of my life will bring for me. This week has focused on further wrapping up my experience here, and I’ve tried to get myself out everyday to go and try something new. This week I went to Corey’s NYC Bagels and Molly’s Cupcakes. I highly recommend the bagel place, as they make amazing bagel sandwiches. In my opinion the cupcake place was very overrated, and was too expensive for the quality and size of cupcake that you received.

We were blessed to have another warm and beautiful weekend, and therefore my friends and I spent all day Saturday laying out on the beach. The distance that our apartment is from the beach (as well as the overall location) makes up for the fact that we do not live in the nicest building in the area. Everyone got so sunburnt, and it was amazing to see hundreds of people out and enjoying the weather. I definitely got a taste of what summer in Chicago would look like, and I’m upset that I won’t be able to experience that (yet).

A big group of us (about 20 people) decided to try some clubs for our last weekend here, and ended up at Joy District. I would highly recommend this place, as it has something that everyone in the group would enjoy. The drinks are good, the ambiance is really cool, and you can meet some very interesting people here. We somehow got free bottle service, and it was a great way to wrap up our time here and have fun together. I’m definitely going to miss all of the friends that I made here, and I hope that all of us going our separate ways does not mean that we lose these connections. That about sums up my last full week in Chicago, and I will see y’all next weekend when I write my last blog. 🙁
