I am currently writing this blog in my bedroom at home in Holland, and it feels so strange. This is the last time that I will be sitting here until I’m officially moved back home in three short weeks, but I think I’m ready for it. Chicago has provided me with so much insight into the real world, and the personal growth that I have undergone is tremendous. Most of my classes in Chicago are beginning to wrap up, as is my internship. Much of my work within the next few weeks will just be finishing projects I have already started, and therefore should be pretty chill.
As I mentioned in my last blog I came home this weekend for my sorority formal, which ended up being really fun. It’s really strange to be able to see all of the girls again and be able to talk like I was never gone at all, and it made me realize how much I missed my friends back home. I also got to see my extended family and kitties for the first time in a while, and that too made me be ready to come home even more.
The past week or so has been restaurant week in Chicago, which essentially just means that restaurants are offering deals on different signature dishes that they have. My cousins came to visit me last week before I came home, and we went to Eataly for dinner one night. Eataly is a big restaurant/market/wine tasting venue in the city, and is definitely a place everyone should check out. I got a two course meal of bruschetta and a Margherita pizza, and it was absolutely to die for. If you are into wine they also have a lot of good imported wines, especially the red ones. I now have to go get ready to catch a train back to Chicago, so until next time!
