Longboards are the new trend hitting Hope College. My personal new obsession… one day my roommate let me borrow her longboard, and I instantly fell in love. So many people use it as transportation on Hope’s campus. The other night a group of friends went out longboarding during the night, but now it is starting to become more of a regular thing. We board out to DeVos parking lot and board around. I still definitely need to practice, because I have had some minor tumbles… nothing too bad.
I named my board Hambre. He deserved a name. He is super cool and really fun!
This week has been a lot fun with long boarding. I have spent quite a bit of time with my friends this week. Tonight I watched a film documentary about sex trafficking. The film was very interesting and led to a great discussion afterward. I felt like a legit college student watching a film in a lecture hall. The film really caused me to think afterwards, and I loved feeling challenged. I hope to attend more events put on by Hope United for Justice this year. The group puts on a lot of great events during the year, so I’ll for sure attend more!
I hope you all have great weekends!

Meet Hambre!
My roommate and I with our boards!
I saw people in a parking lot at Hope late at night and decided that getting a board would be a good idea. I guess you were there! I saw this blog post after I went to Hope's site to tell everyone that I got a board…
