It is almost like having your own personal librarian, living right inside your computer! Hope College’s library website offers many fact-finding resources, but did you know that there is a Live Chat option, which allows you to contact someone who is ready to help you with any research questions you may have? Using the “Ask A Librarian” service, you can also choose to email research questions using the email form, or even text your inquiry to 616-765-4673. If your research needs are more advanced, or if you would simply prefer to work with a librarian in person for an extended amount of time, your best bet is to schedule a Research Consultation. As Todd Wiebe, Head of Research and Instruction explains, “Of all the options available for getting research help in the library, the scheduled consultation is the ultimate. We welcome students at any stage of the research process, too. Consultations scheduled early will often develop into an ongoing dialogue between student and librarian as the research progresses.” Students are welcome to employ these services at any time, or stop by in person during the hours of the Research Desk.
