Let the Christmas Countdown begin!

I LOVE CHRISTMAS! Can you believe it? Christmas is in only 23 days! I honestly do not know where the time went this semester. I feel like it flew by twice as fast as last year. I really have enjoyed my classes this semester and feel rather sad they are coming to an end. However, I have not had a whole lot of time to think about the end of the semester approaching. Instead, I have been busy preparing for the Christmas season. My roommate and I decked out our dorm with decorations, and tonight we are decorating our dorm for the annual Gilmore Hall dorm room door-decorating contest. I’ll let you know how the results turn out.

Since it is the Christmas season, last night Grace, Amy, and I drove to Kalamazoo to watch A Christmas Carol play in a small theatre.  The play blew me away. I really enjoyed it, and I had never seen A Christmas Carol before last night. The actors performed very well, and I enjoyed the Christmas carol singing as well. The play really helped put me in the Christmas spirit.

Before the play, we ate dinner with Grace’s family at my favorite restaurant in Kalamazoo called Sushi-ya. They have the best sushi, and Grace’s dad ordered a sushi boat with a variety of unique sushi options. I know sushi is not normally associated with holiday meals, but sitting around the table with Grace’s family made feel like I was at a Christmas family dinner.

On the car ride to Kalamazoo we blasted Justin Beiber’s Christmas album, and on the way home we had some really great conversations. When I arrived back to Hope, I talked with my parents about our Christmas break plans, and then I was really excited. So by the end of the night, I felt like I was really in the Christmas spirit. I am looking forward to spending time with my friends and family in a few short weeks. However in the meantime, I am enjoying the preparation for Christmas.

Here are some of our family’s annual Christmas pictures for this year
