Sarah Pelyhes ’22 – SIT Oaxaca, Mexico

Hey there!

My name is Sarah and I’m a senior majoring in Global Studies & Spanish. Over the past three years on-campus, I’ve been super involved with Hope’s Interfaith Youth Alliance (HIYA) and Green Hope, blending both my love of intercultural dialogue and sustainability. When not studying, you can often find me attempting to dance, cooking, or pursuing my new hobby, pickleball.

This fall, if all goes according to plan, I’ll be studying abroad in Oaxaca, Mexico and I couldn’t be more delighted. As an avid travel lover, this is the one thing I’ve been 100% sure of my entire time at Hope. I’m eager to finally experience cultural practices, historic landmarks, and so much more that I have only interacted with through a textbook. Between putting my Spanish skills into practice and learning all about Mexican culture/history/politics, I will certainly be on my toes these upcoming months, but I wouldn’t have it any other way!

I’m beyond excited to share it all with you!
