Bonjour readers
My name is Isabella Lemus and I am a computer science/French double major finishing up my last year at Hope College. I am originally from Plainwell, Michigan, and will be heading to live in the city of Nantes, France, for my final semester. Although my hometown is pretty small, I’m lucky to have been able to learn more about the world through the exchange students my family hosted in high school. Our friendship and their courage coming to a new country is part of what inspired me to become an exchange student myself, and I’m excited to grow and learn even more this next semester.
During my time in Nantes I am really hoping to improve my fluency and conversational skills with the people I meet. Great food and company are some of my favorite things in life, so I’m also looking forward to exploring French cuisine through local restaurants, markets, and hopefully learning to cook a bit more on my own!
