Grace Brown – JP2 Project in Krakow, Poland

Hello everyone!

My name is Grace Brown and I am a junior public accounting major at Hope College, and I am originally from Grand Rapids. This spring semester I will be studying in Krakow, Poland through the John Paul II Project. I learned about this program my freshman year at Hope and was originally supposed to go this past fall. Unfortunately, due to COVID, I had to push my plans back another semester, and I am so grateful I am finally able to go!

At Hope, I am involved with the Hope Catholics club and last semester I was the president of Students Cherishing Life on campus. I also play the flute in the Wind Ensemble, because even though I’m not a music major, music is one of my favorite outlets. I also love just walking around Holland and soaking in the beauty of the area, as well as finding a cozy place to have coffee and read a good book.

Integrating my faith into all I do is very important to me, which is part of what attracted me to the John Paul II Project. I wanted to learn more about this man who largely impacted the world we live in today, not just the lives of Christians. I am most excited to learn more about European culture, the impact John Paul II made on the world, and to simply experience new opportunities and adventures.
