There is a light at the end of the tunnel, and the rainy season is starting to wrap up! It may be a little too positive of a statement to say that rainy season is almost over, but the seasons are definitely starting to slowly change.

During the whole month of August, the 15-day forecast on the weather channel reported an 80-100% chance of thunderstorms every single day. But on Tuesday, September 17th, the forecast showed a little sun symbol instead of the usual lightning. That was an exciting discovery!

Slowly but surely, the rain is less frequent, and the sun is coming out more often. I am happy about the prospect of consistently nice weather, although a day without rain means one thing: heat. When the rain comes, temperatures cool to tolerable levels. Hopefully, as the rain moves out, cooler temperatures will take its place.

So much rain! A view of the weather outside from my window.
So much rain!
This view from my room's window usually includes a mountain, but the pouring rain is completely blocking it from view.

When it does rain, most people retreat indoors. The rain is a nice excuse for me to stay in my room, open my window to cool off, and get some homework done. The sound of the rain reminds me of rainy days back in Michigan, and it is lovely to fall asleep to… except when a thunderstorm comes through at 4 AM.

Who doesn’t love being jolted awake to blinding flashes of lightning and roaring thunder?

Overall, I am thankful for the rain. It cools down the temperatures and can make for a nice relaxing afternoon. Hopefully, it will still rain occasionally during the cool season in the coming months.
