song: Unwritten

Hello wonderful people! I am writing to you from mi dormitorio after a jam-packed first week. Now when I say jam-packed, I mean in a good way because I completed orientation, started classes, took a Gothic tour, and went on a class trip to the beautiful city of Tarragona! At times, I still feel like I can not possibly be here – it’s almost like I’ve stepped into a Barcelona pinterest board. This city has some of the most ancient and intricate architecture that I have ever seen. We went to see Roman ruins including an amphitheater that is in great shape considering its age. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to be on this journey and I enjoy learning more about the culture of Barcelona every day. While I cannot wait to tell you more about what I’ve experienced, I must say that there is a lengthy adjustment period. After talking to many of my classmates, I realized that the jetlag may take a while to get over. To help deal with this, I would recommend leaning on new friends and sticking to a healthy sleep schedule as much as possible. Also, I have learned so much about myself and what I am like in an entirely new environment! Everything es muy nuevo so I have been living my life to the promising chords of Unwritten by Natasha Bedingfield.

Tip of the week: buy a journal and write in it every day!
