Lately life has looked like saying yes to everything, taking advantage of every opportunity, and discovering new coffee orders. I am now spending too much money on iced lavender lattes with oat milk and have convinced myself that to be productive in any way I must have a coffee in order to do so. Being a coffee aficionado feels like a rite of passage into becoming a Denver local.
I have also discovered that this Denver elevation is no joke. I may have taken on the aesthetic of a Denver local, but it’s going to take my lungs awhile to get used to the lack of oxygen they are experiencing. We went on a hike at St. Mary’s Glacier, which was absolutely beautiful, but my lungs were screaming at me to stop trying to be active. When I get back to Michigan, I better be able to sprint up and down dunes for miles with ease.
To top off this amazing experience so far, we went to a concert at the iconic venue of Red Rocks Amphitheater. I definitely understand the hype because it was one of the coolest experiences I’ve ever had. Those rocks really do get quite red when the sun goes down. Also, at night, all the lights are shining from the city which just makes it all the more breathtaking. 10/10 recommend seeing a concert there!
Although I haven’t been here for long, I can already tell that Denver is such a unique city. The culture is centered around the beauty that dwells within nature and how we, as humans, are designed to live within and amongst that beauty.
