Hello!
My name is Abigail Nasari; I am from Tanzania and am currently a Junior at Hope College. I am majoring in Studio Arts and am focusing on painting and drawing. A lot of my inspiration for my work comes from being half Korean and Half Tanzanian; aspects of both cultures serve as elements that I can use within my art.
Cultural identity has always been a major part of my creative process, so when I heard about the New York Arts program, I knew that this was the opportunity I needed. New York is not only an art capital, filled with countless galleries and museums, but it is also a large cultural melting pot. I wanted to be in a place that would challenge and grow me artistically and freshly inspire me- the New York Arts Program served as the perfect answer to that!
