Aurora Franzon ’24 – Denver Urban Semester

Hello everyone! My name is Aurora Franzon, and I have been blessed with the opportunity to study in Denver, Colorado. I am a junior studying Communications with a passion for learning and serving others. I am from Whitehall, Michigan and will be graduating in 2024.

While I am in Denver I will be fulfilling my internship requirement at Denver Rescue Mission, working with their communication and events team. Ever since the Immersion trip I went on through Hope College Campus Ministries I have felt the pull to work with people who are struggling, specifically with their homes.

I am really looking forward to spending a semester in Denver. Although it is not outside of the U.S. it will still be a very new and different experience than what I am used to. As someone who really likes the snow, I know, I’m weird, I look forward to having snow, but also having sun. Denver has always been a place I have wanted to go and I am excited for this opportunity. On campus I am involved with Campus Ministries, the Phelp Scholars Program, COMM club, and have two on-campus jobs.

I look forward to documenting my experiences and sharing them with you!

Blessings,
Aurora Franzon
