Running for Hope Cross Country taught me what it means to be a Christian.
Together, we ran the race set before us, and along the way we discovered the true warriors God created us to be. I had moments where I could feel the Lord delighting in my talents. I also recall workouts where I was at the edge of my physical limit, but my teammates pushed me on, like Jesus lifting my face, saying “you were made for more”. I realized that I cannot reach my full potential alone; thank you for seeing in me what my Creator sees. Ubuntu; I am because we are. We rode the Pain Train together, searching for the very best in each other and fighting for those four undefeated years at the MIAA Champs.
Romans 5:3-5 reminds us that we endure and even rejoice in our suffering, because we have hope that our struggle is never in vain, and that Jesus is at the finish line, ready to take us in his arms and say, “well done, good and faithful servant”.
Run the race, class of 2020, fixing your eyes on Jesus!
